RRAPS
Rights, Responsibilities, Advocacy, and Personal Safety.
A Learning Experience for All People
RRAPS is an educational program for teaching about individual Rights, Responsibilities, Advocacy, and Personal Safety. The teaching methods used include role playing, lecture, video, group discussion, and guest speakers. Examples of organizations that might consider using RRAPS include agencies serving people who have disabilities, nursing homes, senior centers, public or private schools, universities, churches, and community groups.
The classes will teach:
- The Right to Dignity and Respect
- The Right to Vote
- The Right to Worship
- The Right to have My Own Things
- The Right to Choose My Friends
- The Right to Privacy
- The Right to Speak for Myself
- The Right to Know My Choices and Make My Own Decisions
- The Right to Get What I Need
- The Right to Be Safe From Abuse
- The Right to Be Safe From Neglect
- The Right to Be Safe From Exploitation
The RRAPS Program includes an instructor manual, a PowerPoint® presentation, a music CD, and reproducible participant materials for 10 people. Purchase of this kit includes 1 half day of staff training at TARC for your agency's representative. If preferred, training at your facility is available for the additional coverage of any required travel expenses.
