TARC'S CHILDREN'S SERVICES TO HOST REUNION CELEBRATION
TOPEKA , Kan., ( April 25, 2008 )- TARC's Children's Services Division invites the Topeka community to its Reunion Celebration Open House. The Open House will be Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will be held at the TARC Administrative Offices, located at 2701 SW Randolph Avenue .
Chris Burke, the TV star best known for his role as Corky on “Life Goes On” will be the evening's special guest. Burke and his band will perform live from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the Topeka Active 20/30 Club's Wright Place 4 Kids playground and there is no charge for the concert.
TARC is a not-for-profit service organization that works to enhance the lives of people with developmental and related disabilities and their families, with service, support, advocacy and community involvement.

TARC'S CHILDREN'S SERVICES TO HOLD RIBBON CUTTING FOR NEW PLAYGROUND
TOPEKA, Kan., (April 4, 2008)- TARC's Children's Services Division invites the Topeka community to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Topeka Active 20-30 Club's Wright Place for Kids Playground. The ceremony will take place Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:30 pm at TARC's Administrative facilities located at 2701 SW Randolph Avenue.
The Topeka Active 20-30 Club's Wright Place for Kids is a completely accessible playground for children of all abilities and is available to all children in Topeka and surrounding communities.
Funding for the playground included a record donation of $50,000 from the Topeka Active 20/30 Club. Additional funds were raised during an intimate acoustic concert provided by national country music recording artist Chely Wright, a native of Wellsville, Kansas, which was held last December.

It is everything one might expect in a senior center: a shared game of bingo, newspaper reading, a few songs, a cantankerous man grousing about lunch.
Just as the numbers of senior citizens are swelling throughout the nation, so are the number of developmentally disabled adults living out retirement with the help of programs like TARC's senior center. Demand is growing so quickly that TARC is considering a new building.
"Just like the baby boom with everyone else, we are seeing more of our folks ready to retire," said Mary Ann Keating, executive director.
