AT's Recommended Web Site Links

National Organizations

• The National Down Syndrome Society (http://www.ndss.org/). NDSS recently launched "UpBeat", which is a new and improved version of News & Views, the nation's only magazine written for and by people with Down syndrome.

Support Groups

• Capitol Area Autism/Asperger Resource Center (CAAARC)
  Topeka has a new local resource in the Capitol Area Autism/Asperger Resource Center (CAAARC). Some of the resources they offer include staff development, parent education, parent support, and a lending library of books, videotapes, and DVD’s. They are also starting up social skills workshops and youth group activities. The age groups will be 6-8yrs., 9-11yrs., 12-14yrs., and 15-18yrs. The CAAARC is located at 2701 SW Randolph Ave, and can be phoned at 785-234-2494. Parent Support group meets the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9 am- 11am. Daycare is available during the meeting.
